Starting in the year 2000 and ending in 2002, the Spencer County Historical Society sponsored a calendar of Historical Happenings and Current Events. Listed on the days of the calendar were items of local historical interest as well as current events submitted by people and organizations in the community.

          We gratefully acknowledge the students of Heritage Hills and South Spencer High Schools who worked with such enthusiasm and dedication to design the artwork presented within these pages. Taken from actual photographs, their interpretations represent both places and faces of days gone by, and a bridge which will allow us to more easily share our historical traditions with others and create new ones for future generations.
